16 Fundamentals of Truth

The Scriptures are inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.

There is only One True God–revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (the Trinity).

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, the Son of God.

Though originally good, man willingly fell into sin, bringing evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.

Every person can have restored fellowship with God through salvation—trusting Christ through faith and repentance. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

We practice two ordinances:

  • Water Baptism by immersion after repentance and receiving Christ.

  • Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's death.

A special experience following salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, as in New Testament times. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

The initial physical evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues, as on the Day of Pentecost.

Sanctification begins at salvation and continues throughout life, separating from evil as believers grow closer to God and Christlikeness.

The Church exists to seek and save the lost. It is the Body of Christ, composed of those who accept God’s redemption through Jesus.

Divinely called and scripturally ordained leadership serves the Church. Believers commit to reach others, worship together, edify the body, and meet human needs

Healing of the sick is a privilege for Christians today, provided in Christ’s atonement. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

Jesus will rapture His Church prior to His return. Believers who have died will rise and meet the Lord in the air. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the AG]

Jesus will return with His saints and reign on earth for 1,000 years, bringing salvation to Israel and establishing universal peace.

Those who reject Christ will face judgment and eternal punishment in the lake of fire.

We look forward to the perfect New Heavens and New Earth Christ is preparing for all who accept Him, where we will dwell with Him forever.
